Growing like a weed

Today was Corrina's 9-month Dr's appt. She continues to grow fast, although she's slowing down on weight gain. Goodbye chunky thighs...boohoo. Here are her measurements:

Weight: 20 lbs 9 oz (75-90th%)
Height: 29" (90th%)
Head: 17.5" (50-75th%)
She also got 2 shots today, but she was very brave and only cried for about 30 secs.
We have the sweetest little girl ever! Thank you, God!

Nine months!!

I truly can't believe Corrina is 9 months old. My little girl has her 2 front upper teeth now. She actually looks more like a little girl and less like a baby. Where is time going? She also seems to be a lot like her momma in that she gets frustrated when something doesn't come easy (i.e. getting from one place to another for her or golf for momma). She is still trying to crawl but prefers instead to lie on her stomach and whine or yelp until we move her. It's been tough to get her to crawl because even if we think we've placed a toy just beyond her reach, she has this amazing arm span and reach and is able to grab those toys pretty easily. I think she has "go-go-gadget" arms. Anyhoo, here's some new pics. These first 2 pics show one of her upper teeth fairly well.

This next pic is her new face. Now that she has her upper teeth, she has been grinding her teeth together, hence the face. Jimmy is hating this sound; drives him nuts!

Our little chunky monkey! Tomorrow she has her 9-month appt with Mr. John. We'll let you know how much she's grown.

My Summer

I have to apologize for my mom. She was such a slacker this summer with keeping up on my blog. I've grown so much since the last time she's written; you won't even recognize me. I even have my 3rd tooth (just came in this past tues.) So, here are some fun things I did this summer:

First, I got my first 3 teeth this summer...if you look close in this pic, you can see my bottom 2. I was very brave and barely fussed when they came in! Now, I like to play with them with my tongue.

I played with Grandma Dee's horses and even tried to ride Maggie. Soon, Grandma will take me on a ride, when I'm a little bigger. I can't wait because I love horses!

I rode in my Uncle Paul's wheelchair, and it was sooo fun. But, ooops, my hiney came out the back. Haha! (My Uncle Paul is now up in heaven with my Grandma May...I was named after her...May is my middle name.)

I went on the mission trip with the teens. We went to Squaw Creek National Wildlife Reserve near KC, MO. The teens worked really hard and built a fence and a 300 ft. boardwalk. Mommy and I made lunches and dinners for them. I was a really good girl and had so much fun with the teens.

I also learned to drink from a straw. I'm very good at it now, and I love to drink water. You know what else I like to do? I like to squeeze water bottles because they make some pretty funny noises. My mommy also makes a very funny face when she says, "Squeeze!" It looks a little bit like this:

I also think I might start crawling soon, although I may wait just a little bit longer so Mommy and Daddy have time to baby-proof the house. They're definitely not ready yet; there's sooo much I can get into!!

We celebrated Papaw Dave's birthday too. I enjoyed sitting on his lap and helping him open his presents.

I helped Daddy with the TV remote on his vacation. (He also did a ton of work around the house, but I'm too little to do that stuff yet, but someday I'll help him. )

These pics are from Baby Dedication Sunday at church. I'm so thankful to my Mommy and Daddy and church family who have dedicated their time, love, encouragement, and wisdom to help me continue to come to know and love my God, my Heavenly Father. (Also, please notice the dress I'm wearing. Even though it's about 2x too big, my Mommy made it, so I had to wear it. It wasn't so bad.) Thanks also to Mimi, Papa, Grandma Dee, Papaw Dave, Auntie Em, and Auntie Anne for coming and celebrating this special day with me.

I also got to meet my new cousin, ZH, and see my older cousin, PH. She lets me borrow her clothes (or else I'd be wearing lots of clothes that my mom made that are uneven and too big...hehe.)

Finally, to end our crazy busy summer, we went camping and to the rodeo in Palastine, IL with my Grandma Dee and Papaw Dave. My aunties were also there, along with my Grandma Mary, Grandpa Bob, lots of great aunts, uncles, and tons of cousins! As you can see, we had soooo much FUN! This first pic shows us going to rummage sales. My Mommy got this great lion hat for me. It makes her laugh, so I put up with it. In the next pic, I'm hugging my cousin, PH.

Here's me riding a tricycle for the first time. Whee! Then, I'm riding in the wagon with my cousin CS.

Swimmin in the pool with my cousins, tryin to stay cool. Geocaching with Daddy and Mommy. I like to hold his GPS even though I have no idea what it does.

I also got to see all the rodeo animals. I just love animals. Here we're looking at the bulls, and I also got to pet one of the horses.

The picture of me in my cowgirl hat (thanks Auntie Em!) is my Daddy's and Mommy's favorite pic. I guess they think I'm pretty cute or something...

Here's me with my Daddy at the rodeo. I just LOVE my Daddy; he's the best Daddy ever. I especially love to touch his hair on his face; it's tickly.

Here are some of my cousins in our rodeo outfits. Aren't we cute!

Hanging out in a lawn chair by the campfire.

Here I am at the carnival. I picked up a duck (which I can say now), and look what I got...a horn!!!

I also got to ride on a merry-go-round. Mommy and Daddy were a little nervous that I'd fall off or be scared, but I'm very strong, very brave, and I like adventures! The other pic is Mommy taking me down the big slide. I think she liked it more than I did. Personally, I liked the merry-go-round a little more; it was faster and it had horses!

Whew! What a FUN SUMMER!
